Thank you to the North Shore Hebrew School families, Temple members, and others who came to taste kosher wines, bid on silent auction items, and listen to "The Passover Project" by Musica Libera from Trieste, Italy! And a special thank you to Shendal Bakal and her committee for all of their hard work that went into this very enjoyable evening!

Chag Purim on Sunday, March 4, 2007!
North Shore Hebrew School families celebrated Purim in style (and in costume, of course!), complete with moon bounce, bungee pull, strong man, cotton candy, hamentashen, art activities, games, and so much more. Take a look at the photos below! A huge todah rabah (thank you!) to Congregation Ahabat Sholom and Steve Dailey for their generous support toward this event!

Our students and their families enjoyed a wonderful Tu B'Shevat program on Sunday, February 4, 2007!
After a presentation by Camp Menorah about their summer programs, Ellen Garfield began our program by leading us in a joyful sing-a-long! Then we enjoyed a meaningful Tu B'Shevat seder with all the wonderful foods of the holiday. After our seder, the children participated in crafts - they decorated pots and planted herbs, decorated their own gardening gloves, and made mosaics of trees using dried beans and peas. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to experience the meaning of Tu B'Shevat through music, art, and science!

What a Fantastic North Shore Hebrew School Hanukkah Party & Book Fair on Sunday, December 10, 2006!
We made hanukkiahs, dreidels, and more; enjoyed looking at the artwork of our talented students; picked out books at the book fair; and then enjoyed a wonderful musical presentation staged by Ellen Garfield and the students of the North Shore Hebrew School! After Ellen led us in a spirited community sing-a-long, we enjoyed latkes and each other's company, as our children (and a few adults) finished up their craft projects!
Thank you to everyone who came, and to everyone who made purchases to support the North Shore Hebrew School! Don't forget to mention our school if you make any purchases at Borders Books - we will receive a percentage of the sale! Thank you!

Our Kabalat Panim (Welcome to School) Program on Sunday, September 10, 2006 was a Smashing Success!
Todah rabah (thank you) to our new Education Director, Heather Greenberg, and her fantastic staff for making Sunday a wonderful and welcoming day for our new Hebrew School students and their families! After enjoying songs with Ellen Garfield in the small chapel, students went to their classrooms with their teachers and familiarized themselves with their classroom, their new curriculum, and their fellow students.
Then...we all got together in the Community Hall to get to know each other, create and build a Community Quilt, and enjoy some pizza and ice cream! We also had a guest appearance from the North Shore / Peabody USY (United Synagogue Youth), who spoke to us about the exciting programs they have to offer for children in grades 3 and up. (For more information, please call Ariel Berger, Youth Director, at (978) 594-5380, or click here to send him an email.) Ruach (spirit) filled the air as families and community members joined together to wish our Hebrew School off to a great start!
