Now in it's third year is our wonderful Tots for Torah program - just for children ages 3 to pre-K!  We will meet two Sunday mornings every month, from 9 am to noon - see our Calendar for which Sundays.

The goal of our Tots for Torah program is to introduce young children to Jewish Education; specifically, our curriculum is structured around holidays and customs, Mitzvot, Bible stories, Tzedakah, community, etc.  We will also work on letter recognition, and on learning songs and prayers through rote.

Children will learn through every means imaginable - art, drama, music, cooking, dancing, whatever makes learning fun!  We know that children who enjoy our Tots for Torah program will look forward to becoming students at our Hebrew School and furthering their Jewish Education!

Among our planned activities:

  • Creative kosher cooking with Liora Kelman (for all ages - even parents are invited!)

  • Israeli music & dancing with Ellen Garfield

  • CD's of prayers & songs that your children can take home and listen to

And lots more - playing games, art projects, puzzles, etc. - we plan to learn by having fun!

We will have a middle of the morning Sunday recess during which your child will be provided with a healthy, kosher snack.  And as long as the good weather holds out, we may walk to a nearby park.

Rekindle Shabbat:

We also strongly encourage our families to register for the TOTALLY FREE REKINDLE SHABBAT PROGRAM provided by the The Robert I. Lappin Charitable Foundation.  Beginning with an educational session for adults on 5 basic Shabbat evening home rituals, Rekindle Shabbat brings the beautiful Shabbat experience home and creates meaningful experiences and memories that will help to keep our children Jewish.

Participants receive a “Shabbat bag” with candlesticks, a silver kiddush cup, a prayer book and other Shabbat items.  Then, together with a buddy family, they receive four free, catered Shabbat dinners to enjoy together in their homes.  You can choose your buddy family, or the Lappin Foundation can partner you with a family that is similar to yours!
